The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Signal design and signal design checking for railroad/rail transit systems
Design and checking of vital and non-vital signal circuits for both relay and microprocessor interlocking
Development of contract specifications for third party contracts, preparing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
Design of systems and support during construction phase of the project
Review supplier and/or contractor submittals and product data and support installations, testing and cutovers
Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs.
Technical bid analyses
Detailed design of signal systems as well as block design
Vital and non-vital processor programming
Relay circuit design
Cable plan design and field equipment layout
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
10+ years of signal Engineering/design experience
Experience with Rail Road and Transit signal system designs
Good Planning, organizational and communication skills
Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
15+ years of experience
BSEE with MSEE or EIT preferred
Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) experience preferred
Positive Train Control (PTC) experience preferred
