AECOM Senior Construction Management - Dams & Levees in New York, New York

Job Summary

AECOM National Water Business Line is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as Senior Construction Manager for major pursuits of large multi-year Water Resources projects.

The successful candidate plans, schedules, conducts, and supervises/leads the most technically competent staff within a multi-discipline team in the program and construction management, design support during construction, client and third party interface and coordination and other program related activities on high complexity water projects, with a focus on Dams & Levees construction programs.

  • Involves continuous client contact, provides overall project direction to the project team(s) while providing information about the status of the project to the client, stakeholders and internal management.

  • Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of program and construction management activities, including project budgets, schedules, and resources. Plans and conducts work requiring a significant level of judgment in the independent evaluation of requirements for complex water capital programs.

  • Applies knowledge of design, construction and operations to devise approaches to problems encountered.

  • Ensures interface of project elements with other systems for overall quality and safety of built facility.

  • Initiates or escalates the correction of any conditions which may adversely affect the completion of the project on schedule and within budget.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering or related field

  • 15+ years experience in Project Construction Management of Water Resource projects with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $50M

  • Experience with communications and presentations, public outreach activities, and public speaking.

  • Experience with alternative delivery projects and methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in construction management or civil engineering

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP)

  • Experience with $50M+ Dams & Levees projects
