Job Summary

We are seeking a professional with a minimum of three years of experience to contribute to front-end web development projects and manage content across AECOM’s external and internal digital platforms, including the corporate website and Ecosystem, the company’s intranet.

Job Summary

Reporting to and working closely with the Manager of Digital Development and Strategy, the Specialist, Web Developer, will build, implement and measure high-impact internal and external web development projects to advance key global initiatives, such as major thought leadership projects and brand campaigns.

The position requires an individual with strong project management capabilities, creativity, a strategic point of view that aligns with the goals of the business, and the ability to earn the confidence of leadership as well as motivate, inspire and influence across groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing highly engaging website functionality based on best practices and leading industry standards

  • This includes recommending and implementing enhancements to the site in order to engage potential clients, partners, investors and job candidates

  • Reporting and implementing analytics campaigns

  • Partnering with key stakeholders to update content, create new sections and develop innovative digital solutions to meet AECOM’s communications and business development objectives

  • Aiding in the creation of microsites and splash pages to meet external communication, business and marketing needs while adhering to AECOM digital and branding standards

  • Serving on the content management team for the external website

  • Helping increase effectiveness of AECOM’s digital platforms by leveraging best practices in software development and innovation

Minimum Requirements

This is a Front-end developer position for an individual with a proven track record working with media, editorial, public relations and strategic communications technical teams. This individual must be comfortable working in a matrix organization where they successfully exhibit strong influencing skills, political astuteness and business acumen so as to be seen as a trusted advisor to their internal and external partners. Requirements include:

  • Demonstrated experience with PHP, SQL, React, Angular, self-hosted WordPress sites and WordPress Multisite environments

  • Demonstrated WordPress CMS platform expertise, including experience managing highly customized WordPress sites

  • Experience developing WordPress themes and plug-ins

  • Have a data oriented approach to site optimization

  • Knowledge of UX, SEO strategies and optimized mobile experiences

  • Experience working in a corporate Agile development environment

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to: evaluate opportunities, define strategic targets and overall communications architecture, design plans that achieve those targets and manage the successful execution of those plans

  • Strong writing skills, able to write in a variety of styles and for a variety of media. Proven experience in business to business communication

  • Acts as a disciplined collaborator achieving results for both the function and the business

  • Leverages knowledge and skill from other parts of the organization

  • Demonstrates confidence and commitment to see change through and effectively leading others through change

Preferred Qualifications

  • A related field plus a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related position with a large corporation in media or digital agency

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic and/or Communications Design, Computer Science, English, Journalism, PR or related discipline
