Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Engineer for immediate employment in the Greater New York City Area. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging project within our Power and Energy sector partnering with major Utility companies in all regions we support

This is a sourcing requisition for future opportunities

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Program Manager/Project Manager to problem solve construction related issues on project sites

  • Performs tasks including client/project development, resource management, and supervision management of construction management activities as they relate to contract administration, cost management, project management, quality management, construction safety management, time management

  • Assist in managing and coordinating preliminary sites or building analysis for construction projects

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering

  • 5+ years experience including 2+ years in project management

  • Ability to work independently and without daily supervision from project engineer, project manager and resident construction engineer

  • Consultants work will be dictated by scope of work

  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art construction techniques, project management, and contract administration

  • Basic knowledge to be able to inspect in-progress construction work to ensure compliance with the contract documents, specifications, permits, and drawings

  • Working knowledge of industry wide practices and safety regulations

  • Awareness of change and advancements in the industry, and develop industry-wide expertise

  • Good interpersonal skills. Ability to interface and coordinate daily with divisional leaders and external organizations

  • Good negotiation skills with clients, contractors, and vendors

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to view tasks logically, break them down into essential requirements, and generate a solution to meet project goals

  • Ability to handle multiple smaller projects from start to finish, with only major decisions being brought to Project Engineer, Resident Construction Manager, and/or Project Manager

  • Capable project management and organization skills

  • Ability to identify and solve problems

  • Inspection experience associated with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation/Controls Projects
