LBG is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Superintendent for immediate employment.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Assists the project team by coordinating work according to the project schedule, assist in the solicitation of proposals and selection of specialty contractors as well as ensure timely, complete and accurate generation of selected subcontract agreements and purchase orders
Perform estimating functions for changes to the schedule. This may include estimating staffing needs of engineering firms, review of scopes and schedule
Assist superintendents in interpreting design drawings, research and recommend solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions and modify schedule of materials to be delivered, equipment, and subcontractors schedule as needed
Communicates and informs and/all changes by entering information in appropriate project software and/or systems. Responsible for continuous updating and accurate generations of as-built documents and contract documents.
Process and review change orders which have been issued for the project in order to communicate and clarify changes to sub-contractors to keep the project moving along
Responsible for clear and tractable document control in accordance with established policies and procedures, including utilizing management systems to create/track RFI’s, transmit/track submittals, compose agreements (including third parties) and maintain project expediting list and schedule
Communicate issues in advance to Project Managers that may affect cost and timeframe of the project schedule.
Review purchase orders, specifications, delivery schedules, instruction manuals and technical data to offer assistance and interpretation on-site
Monitor field contract work contract to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures and specifications and codes
Prepare and implement quality control procedures such as instructions, inspection programs, control measuring and testing equipment
Attend weekly meetings with the design team and contractors as instructed to coordinate information between the parties
Coordinate periodic job-related photographs for records
Actively assist interns and Construction Project Engineers in gaining on-the-job training and counsel them on the skills and competencies they must acquire to be successful in the pursuit of their personal development goals
Oversee and report back on sub-contractors progress. Day-to-day work schedule is assigned and monitored by the Superintendent, and issues are reported to the Project Engineer
Responsible for tracking, monitoring effective dates and parameters of permit logs and insurance certificates and violations of third parties. May be responsible for obtaining new permits and certificates. (This duty on larger projects may be performed by either the Office administrative staff to include the Document Control Clerk. This responsibility requires the incumbent to notify parties in advance when their certificates or permits are expiring in order for the third party to obtain new permits and certificates
Performs other job related duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Civil, mechanical, electrical, construction management), or an equivalent combination of specialized coursework and field experience to equal such.
Construction, Building and Business Acumen preferred;
Possess demonstrated ability in detailed-oriented success
Ability to read shop drawings highly desirable.
Knowledge of BIM technology and scheduling standards preferred
Knowledge of construction computer software or system preferred
