Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Assistant Construction Project Manager for the New York City office location.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be required to demonstrate an established career in the construction industry with specific examples of subcontractor management on projects ranging in volume from $200,000 to $25 million or more. We operate on various schools all throughout the 5 boroughs.

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Assistance with Site Reviews and Site Selection, Management of Estimating Services

  • On site supervision of subcontractors

  • Management of quality, safety, and schedule for projects

  • Running of daily/weekly meetings

  • Documentation of project progress

  • Verify that design and specifications are being followed accurately

  • Work closely with the contractor assuring their compliance

  • Manage shop drawings

  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain logs

  • Assist with RFI

  • Participate in meetings

  • Review contractor's requests for payments

  • Verify schedule follow up and verify labor and non-labor quantities are followed

  • Work closely with project manager and client

  • Identify problems and participate in finding solution

  • Perform various calculations

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Building Maintenance, or relevant experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the New York Construction Market, with Facilities and/or School Construction/Project Management experience

  • Project oversight, document review, inspection, QA/QC, contractor supervision and coordination

  • Willingness and ability to occasionally work evening and weekend hours
