AECOM Program Manager - Hydro Power in New York City, New York

Job Summary

  • Manages more complex projects that tend to be larger in scope and dollar, thereby increasing the potential for larger change orders and consequences of error.

  • May act independently as the IE representative with consulting firms and ensures that the final product reflects the original scope and budget requirements.

  • Manages projects which have greater complexity than a Program Manager III.

  • Increasing responsibility for leadership of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience in engineering and project management or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Substantial knowledge of related disciplines, and understanding of the effects on the client and its customers

  • Well-informed of changes and advancements in the industry and acquired industry-wide expertise.

  • Knowledgeable of how clients interacts with outside organizations, including other utilities and regulatory agencies, and with its customers.

  • Familiar with project budgets, costs, rate structures, and policies.

  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong negotiating skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills focused on the results of data rather than on the data analysis procedures. In some cases, these "problems" may be associated with the client's generation and transmission of electricity safely, at the lowest cost, or in developing expanded capabilities and services for customers.

  • Routinely investigates what is not intuitive and develops solutions to non-routine problems.

  • Proficient at managing a project from start to finish

  • Willingness to enter confined spaces and climb/scale power system apparatuses is required.

  • Regularly works independently with no supervision

  • This position does not include sponsorship for US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15 years of relevant experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from a school accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

  • Work in the Power industry, familiar with utilities

  • Experience with Hydro Power is of importance

  • Experience with multi million, billion dollar programs are important

  • New York State PE License strongly preferred

  • Project Management Professional certification.
