AECOM Industrial Hygienist/Asbestos Inspector in New York City, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking an Industrial Hygienist / Asbestos Inspector for our New York, NY office. The individual will be responsible for conducting pre-demolition building surveys and overseeing asbestos abatement activities for various projects throughout area. This position requires strong technical field skills and proficient report writing skills. Candidate should have working knowledge of federal and state asbestos and lead regulations and preferably maintain asbestos inspector and project monitor licensures.

Responsibilities shall include but may not be limited to

  • Field sampling and chain-of-custody preparation

  • Generation of project daily logs and supporting documentation

  • Coordination with regulatory agencies, review of project specifications and drawings, data tabulation, and report preparation

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Degree

  • 6+ years of asbestos consulting experience

  • EPA-accredited asbestos inspector and project monitor

  • Working knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and oral)

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications

  • Valid State Driver’s License

  • OSHA 40hr HAZWOPER

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Must pass a Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience performing inspections, sampling and abatement oversight

  • Asbestos inspector and project monitor licensures
