AECOM is seeking Construction Managers to support utility projects in either our New York City, NY offices or possibly to be assigned to client locations in the state of NY.
Provides guidance to employees within the latitude of established policies.
Establishes procedures that affect immediate organization.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including understanding of current business trends.
Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
May have budget responsibilities.
Erroneous decision or failure to achieve results adds to costs and may impact short-term goals of organization.
Oversees the administration of projects during the construction cycle including technical, financial, and client satisfaction.
Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the planning, design and/or construction management activities and personnel under individual's direction on a day-to-day
Position specific responsibilities:
Demonstrated ability to view tasks logically, break them down into essential requirements, and generate a solution to meet project goals.
Ability to investigate what is not intuitive, anticipate problems, and field construction.
BA/BS plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education (AA/AS plus 10 years of relevant experience OR High school diploma / GED plus 12 years of relevant experience)
Must be prepared to assume the Resident Construction Manager role in his/her absence
Excellent written communications, both internal & external
Must be aware of changes and advancements in the industry and develop industry-wide expertise
Strong process knowledge of state-of-the-art construction techniques
Ability to manage diverse projects involving integration of construction into different operating systems and various utilities in the state
Knowledge of various utility policies and procedures as well as industry wide practices and safety regulations
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is preferred
7+ years of project management experience is preferred.
New York state PE license is preferred
PMP certification is preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and strong negotiation skills
