AECOM Architectural Designer in New York City, New York

Job Summary

AECOM is hiring an Architectural Designer for our NYC office to work on high profile transportation projects. This individual will collaborate directly with Senior Architects to develop and deliver construction documents and specifications on transportation projects of various scale in size and complexity as part of an experienced, talented project team. Immediately earn opportunities for additional project responsibilities as necessary skills are developed and demonstrated.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with a Senior Architect, independently preparing and presenting client focused design solutions to project team members.

  • Preparing and reviewing models and drawings during all design phases.

  • May coordinate and collaborate in activities with employees in other disciplines and departments, internally and externally.

  • In collaboration with a Senior Architect, performing technical assignments of moderate complexity consistent with approved schedules and budgets.

  • Supporting the pursuit of exciting new transportation projects via Power Point and 3D Presentations.

  • Prepare designs, renderings, sketches, diagrams, schematic and working drawings to illustrate design solutions.

  • Develop and document details to communicate design intent.

  • Edit specifications.

  • Develop, adapt, or modify design features and details under the direction of a project manager, project designer, or project architect.

  • Select and specify finish materials and furniture.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors in Architecture or Masters in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program and 2+ years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Experience in Revit

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to interact with senior representatives of client organizations.

  • Knowledge of project design and construction document production, standard construction techniques and principals.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Familiarity with building materials and detailing, construction documents organization.

  • Working knowledge of AutodeskCAD, Bentley Microstation, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, Lumion, V-Ray and Rhino 3D strongly preferrred

  • Experience in transportation projects in NYC a plus.
