Job Summary

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee engineering and architectural design, bid evaluation, contract administration, planning, project scheduling, coordination, utility coordination, quality control, field decisions and supervision to insure projects are completed within the stipulated time frame and allocated budget

  • Review requested modifications to airport facilities and infrastructure

  • Review plans

  • Provide required data for specifications

  • Develop cost estimates and projections for assigned projects

  • Schedule and conduct design progress meetings

  • Prepare records required for Federal or state reimbursement

  • Ensure that construction contracts are in compliance with applicable federal and state equal opportunity legislation

  • Coordinate activities with outside agencies to assure timely completion of all projects

  • Compile and analyze technical data

  • Prepare reports concerning project related activities

  • May assist with construction management functions on the owner’s behalf to ensure the project is built in accordance with the plans and specifications

  • Assist in resolving construction contract disputes, and rendering final inspection and approval of completed construction work

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience

  • Proficient in the use of CADD, GIS and other computer systems in order to perform job functions

  • Familiar with a variety of projects as well as project delivery methods (i.e. design-bid-build, design-build, and construction manager at risk)

  • Familiar with airfield lighting, data cabling, flight information display systems, fire alarms, CCTV, access control systems, medium voltage switchgear, building power, lighting, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience working in an airport environment

  • PE Licensed or licensed as an architect
