Position Title Site Health + Safety Officer / Assistant Site Superintendent

The Environment Division of AECOM is actively seeking a talented Site Health + Safety Officer who will also perform duties as a Site Superintendent Assistant for a large scale remediation project in Murphysboro, IL. The appropriately qualified application will be able to demonstrate experience in the following activities and duties for remediation of a former Manufactured Gas Plant site in Southern Illinois:
Assist with preparation of Site Specific Health and Safety Plans
Prepare, coordinate and manage site safety
Assist in supervision of site workers and subcontractors
Manage and assist site sampling crews
Oversee equipment decontamination
Manage solid and special waste manifest
Oversee general site maintenance and housekeeping
Monitor and communicate project performance with project managers, accountants, and various clients
Manage, submit, and report health and safety observations and incidents
Assist and conduct site status reports/conferences with Project Managers; Program Managers and Clients
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Construction Management
8+ years' experience in environmental remediation and/or construction management
Construction oversight experience
30 hour OSHA training completed at the time of hire or the ability to obtain Construction Safety training within 3 months of hire state
This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization
Experience and familiarity with environmental remediation construction for former Manufactured Gas Plant sites completed using Illinois Environmental Protection Agency TACO and Site Remediation Programs and the rules and regulations that apply
Oversight with earth retention systems, excavation plans, specifications and equipment
Oversight of waste management and perimeter air monitoring will be a plus
