AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Code Review Manger for immediate employment for our office at Moffett Federal Airfield. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Knowledge of code enforcement principles, practices and methods as applicable to a municipal setting; working knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations relating to nuisance abatement and public safety codes.
Ability to easily assess situations, use de-escalation techniques in mediating disputes and problem solve to resolution.
Working knowledge of inspection techniques.
Ability to prepare, organize and maintain logs and reports of ongoing projects.
Records, gathers and compiles all data and documentation regarding construction document review and files per document control requirements.
Ability to analyze complex situations, problems and data, and use sound judgment in drawing conclusions and making decisions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, community organizations and representatives of other related entities.
Ability to comprehend and articulate complex facts and relationships in detail and to summarize and write clearly, concisely and legibly, and to testify in court in an objective, concise, and professional manner.
Ability to produce reports, graphs, charts, photographs or exhibits.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the applicant in a professional manner.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively deal with agitated stakeholders.
8+ years' professional experience
Extensive, expert knowledge of health, safety and building code
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project is expected
Previous work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary setting
Experienced with performing California Building Code plan check reviews and with current California and ADA accessibility requirements
Ability to manage and coordinate numerous plan review efforts by numerous teams
Able to manage and perform multiple tasks during the day
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required
Degree in architecture, engineering or construction management a plus
Certification for building inspection a plus
