Position Title Water Resources/Stormwater Engineer

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Water Resources/Stormwater Engineer for immediate employment in our Morrisville, NC office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for watershed assessments, hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality modeling, geospatial evaluations, preparation of construction documents and engineering reports, and other activities of limited scope
Responsible for field work including environmental sampling and parameter collection, stormwater BMP inspection and maintenance, BMP retrofit assessments, and stream evaluations
Performs work for which there are set guidelines and precedents that involves plans, investigations, testing, or equipment with relatively few complex features
Performs work that involves conventional aspects of scientific disciplines but may be expected to develop scientifically sound, innovative and cost-effective solutions to complex problems
Applies standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations
Prepares basic data and scientific documents regarding stormwater, water quality, and best management practices
Works on small projects or portions of larger projects
May manage small segments of projects, comparable to skills
Reviews analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine and complex analyses based on well-defined guidelines with minor supervision
Validates analytical data under close supervision for statistical analyses at a level of detail that requires familiarity with method procedures and requirements
Responsible for Quality Control of tasks or small segments of project produced
Receives instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions
Performs tasks independently and work together with others to accomplish project objectives as a team
Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, biological and agricultural engineering, or related engineering field
2+ years of directly applicable experience
Working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering principles
Understanding of surface water quality, stormwater quality, and stormwater management in construction and post-construction settings; watershed assessments, hydrology, and fluvial processes
Familiarity with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations (e.g., NPDES/MS4 permits, Clean Water Act, Falls Lake Nutrient strategy)
Experience with planning, designing, construction, and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and BMPs, low impact development projects, and green infrastructure practices
Ability to write well, distill supporting information in the scientific literature, and communicate technical issues to a wide range of audience
Working knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software, such as CADD, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS)
Must posses a valid driver's license
- Master's Degree in a related field
