AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Project Engineer for immediate employment in the Morrisville, NC office.
Responsible for supporting construction project management from the pre-construction budgeting/ schedule stage through procurement, shop drawing/coordination development, construction, space turnover and contract closeout. Applicants must be willing to travel, as jobsite visits may be required.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Provide engineering reviews of construction submittals, designs, and requests for information.
Support the project manager and other project personnel with estimating, scheduling, procurement, labor tracking, finance, accounting, project documentation and general project administration.
Participate in developing project bidding strategy with the project team and purchasing department. Assist with preparation of scopes of work for each trade.
Develop logistics plans that allow contractors to complete their work in a coordinated, efficient manner.
Attend meetings with construction contractors, clients, and design teams, document meeting actions and follow up activities required.
Assist with development and implementation of construction quality control and safety programs. Implement and maintain tracking mechanisms for corrective actions.
Review project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and financial reports. Evaluate deviations from the project baseline data (i.e., original schedule, budget, etc.).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
0 - 2 years of construction project experience. Experience may also be obtained through internships
Must be able to read drawings and project specifications
General engineering knowledge and ability to read and interpret project specifications and drawings
Basic understanding of project accounting and spreadsheet management
Computer/Software proficiency. Microsoft Office proficiency a minimum (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Due to the nature of work ,candidate must be a US Citizen
Must be willing to travel for both OCONUS and CONUS projects
Must possess a valid passport
Be willing and able to regularly communicate with subs / clients / internal team
Possess Basic understanding of project accounting and spreadsheet management.
Primavera Scheduling experience
Specialized courses in construction management
Prior experience on Federal, Government or Military construction projects.
