The Water Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented CAD Technician/Designer for immediate employment in our Morrisville, NC office, located less than 10 miles from Raleigh, NC. They will work collaboratively in a team environment with mentors and peers to develop detailed construction plans, exhibits, and figures. The CAD Technician/Designer will be responsible for ensuring that the construction plans adhere to company and/or client and industry standards. Additionally the CAD Technician/Designer may be required to visit project sites on occasion to take measurements, photos, and gain a general understanding of the site constraints to complete the design. The CAD Technician/Designer will ensure timely delivery on all projects. The appropriately qualified applicant will have the opportunity to work with an established team of engineers and scientists on a variety of water, wastewater, and water resources projects. Candidates with a positive attitude, good aptitude, and strong initiative will integrate well with our existing group of outstanding professionals. Some clients require random drug screening.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Use Autodesk suite products, such as Civil 3D to develop engineering design drawings.
Develop detailed construction plans, exhibits, and figures for water, wastewater, and stormwater pipelines, and pumping stations.
Develop Erosion and Sedimentation Controls plans.
Ensure that construction plans adhere to company and/or client, and industry standards.
Conduct field work to take measurements, photos, and identify site constraints.
Apply a general understanding of site constraints to complete designs.
Minimum 6 months experience using Autodesk suite product, preferably Civil 3D.
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Maps, and other common business software and web-based applications
Minimum 6 months technical work experience in environmental engineering or related field (e.g. internships, Co-Op, etc.).
Must be able to conduct field work, tolerate variable environmental conditions, walk on uneven surfaces, and lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive rental vehicles on behalf of the company
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must be able to work collaboratively in teams and independently when necessary.
Technical degree preferred.
Familiarity with the National CAD Standards.
Experience developing alignments, profiles, surfaces, corridors, pipe networks, and new label styles.
