AECOM has a position available for a Senior Environmental Management Consultant to support the growth of our EHS practice in Ontario, Canada. This position comes with the opportunity to manage EHS projects and assist in the growth of the EHS practice in Canada. The individual will deliver the following environment, health & safety services to AECOM’s key clients in various industries (commercial/retail, manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, energy, and mining). Additionally, the appropriately qualified candidate will have 8+ years of working experience in the services listed below.
Developing and evaluating Environmental Management Systems (EMS) for facility operations and infrastructure construction projects;
Performing Environmental, Health & Safety Compliance (EHS) Audits;
Providing EHS regulatory compliance support services;
Developing and executing EHS training (compliance and management system focused).
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and auditing environment and/or health & safety management systems.
Performing phase I due diligence assessments, executing hazardous building material surveys and other occupational hygiene related services would be an asset.
Highly motivated and accountable, work remotely with other team members, and be an effective communicator.
The candidate must also possess strong technical writing and verbal communication skills.
Organizational skills and an ability to work well on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment are essential qualities.

BA/BS degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Comprehensive understanding of Canadian federal and provincial EHS legislation.
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and auditing environment and/or health & safety management systems
Sponsorship is not available for this position
Some travel in and around the province of Ontario will be required
Must possess a valid G-class (Ontario) driver’s license and vehicle.
Post-secondary degree, diploma or degree desired in environmental management/science or health & safety;
10+ years of experience in EHS in Canada;
Performing phase I due diligence assessments, executing hazardous building material surveys and other occupational hygiene related services is an asset.
Any of the following certifications/designations - a plus: CRSP, CSP, ROH, CIH, EP(CEA), EMS(LA)
Highly motivated and accountable, work remotely with other team members, and be an effective communicator
Experience working for a consulting engineering company;
Practical experience in commercial/retail, manufacturing, construction, oil & gas, energy, and mining sectors;
Expert knowledge in Canadian federal and Ontario provincial EHS legislation
Knowledge of Canadian EHS legislation in other Canadian provinces and territories
Working knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018;
Familiarity working with EHS Management Information Systems (e.g. Cority, Gensuite, Enablon, Velocity, Intelex, etc.)
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel).
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently;
Ability to work in both field and office environments.
