Job Summary

AECOM is looking to hire a Risk Management Analyst for Program and Project Management (PPM) Business Line Canada Region. The employee will work from home due to COVID-19, and will eventually work out of our Markham or Mississauga office once office is deemed safe.

Job Summary:

AECOM is looking to hire a Risk Management Analyst for Program and Project Management (PPM) Business Line Canada Region. Reporting to the Risk Management Practice Lead, Program and Project Management Business Line, this position will be responsible for the implementation of standardized risk management activities for various Projects and Programs within the Program and Project Management Business Line and supporting other Business Lines; reviewing program/project issues; and developing risk mitigation strategies and claims avoidance policy, strategy, and objectives. This position will be based out of our Markham, Ontario office and is expected to begin in February 2021. Employee will work from home due to COVID-19, and will work out of office once safe to do so.

Essential functions of the job are as follows

  • Act as a business consultant to identify the core requirements of the data risk management landscape and act as a trusted advisor to a variety of stakeholders internal and external (Service lines, functional teams).

  • Act as an advisor for projects in the area of Risk Management, including but not limited to: when/how to do a formal risk assessment, develop and organize risk mitigation plans and develop tracking mechanisms to controls effectiveness of risk management.

  • Assist in the execution and maintenance of risk management service framework, including data use case execution that reflect project/program direction and opportunities.

  • Recognize and manage risks in area of responsibility, and assists in putting in place appropriate mitigation plans and assists in communicating these to avoid surprises with key stakeholders.

  • Effectively run workshops to gather requirements and gain consensus.

  • Work and team with a multitude of different people - including business customers, Functional managers, project managers and engineers - to balance demands.

  • Assist in the development of project specific risk management plans.

  • Organize and facilitate risk mitigation meetings.

  • Assist in the development of ad hoc risk communiques supporting decision points in the project.

  • Review project document, analyze project data and develop Risk Registers.

  • Conduct constructability reviews, schedule critical reviews, and scrutinize cost estimates, understanding areas of uncertainty.

  • Schedule and conduct risk interviews and support facilitation of Risk Workshops.

  • Develop quantitative integrated cost and schedule risk models and analyze results.

  • Prepare risk communications (memos), Risk Assessment reports, and document risk mitigation strategies.

  • Work with project team on risk allocation and risk transfer mechanisms through either design specifications or language in the procurement documents.

  • Prepare Risk Assessment presentations and prepare presentations of the projects risk profile.

  • Work as advisor to Project Managers.

  • Work collaboratively with risk management team, involving supporting decisions of the Risk Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • University Degree in Business, Construction Management or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Any related school or work experience focusing on risk an asset.

  • M.A.Sc. or M.B.A. degree in Civil Engineering, Economics, Statistics or related field is a strong asset.

  • Familiarity with Monte Carlo simulation and any experience with applicable software, such as @Risk, P6 Risk Analyzer, or Crystal Ball an asset.
