Job Description

AECOM’s rapidly growing ESG Advisory team is seeking experienced advisers with industry (technical) experience and a management consulting mindset to bring our sector knowledge and market insights to our key clients.

Our work covers the full range of services and solutions our clients require on their sustainability journeys. At AECOM our primary purpose is to enable sustainable infrastructure and in achieving that you can expect to work with clients from across our priority sectors including transportation, water, energy, buildings and the natural environment. Our work varies from high-level ESG strategy development, target setting and reporting to net zero and circular economy pathways, through to specialty strategies that meet our client’s material risks, disclosure requirements and opportunities associated climate resilience and the energy transition.

Our vision for our ESG Advisory practice is to holistically support our clients on their ambitious ESG transformations, providing strategic advice at the highest levels and going on to deliver advanced sustainability solutions across their entire organization. Our ESG Advisory practitioners are recognized as industry leaders and experts, and our ESG Advisory offer is a clients’ entry point to unlock dedicated, long-term technical support that will carry them through their multi-decade ESG transformation and decarbonization journeys.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of ESG Advisory team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Growth : working with our client account managers and marketing leads, to create and identify ESG advisory opportunities, as well as support the integration of ESG principles within the delivery of design projects

  • ESG leadership : leading both on delivery of ESG advisory-related projects, ESG opportunity identification, as well as following up with insights for our key client account managers on pull-through work opportunities

  • Strategy : actively support the growth of the ESG Advisory practice, in developing new business opportunities with AECOM’s key growth sectors

  • Capacity : supporting the overall development of AECOM’s ESG advisory practice, the career progression of more junior colleagues and enabling ESG-literacy across the AECOM business

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree from an accredited university + 6 years of relevant experience.

  • experience in a consulting environment, including client-relationship management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8 years of relevant experience

  • An advanced degree in Sustainability, Engineering, English, History, Communications, Law, or other areas that require intensive research, information synthesis, creative thinking, and problem solving

  • Track record developing new ESG advisory opportunities and writing winning proposals

  • Project experience where you have advised clients on ESG strategies and pathways that are supporting transition to a sustainable, low carbon future

  • Experience leading and managing projects that deliver required client outcomes, within time and budget

  • Robust understanding of the global ESG reporting ecosystem and disclosure standards

  • Demonstrated ability to provide deep customer insight, models a client driven culture, spearheads and supports market-focused solutions

  • An ability to understand and an appreciation of engineering design processes. The successful candidate will be working across AECOM business lines and supporting technical delivery teams in elevating and embedding ESG outcomes in both pursuits and project delivery. To be successful, the ideal candidate will be able to balance bold ESG ambitions with project constraints

  • Financial acumen, allowing you to understand the market context of a client’s ESG aspirations and offer solutions that support a viable, business case, while balancing the project and capital constraints in delivering on design and development projects

  • Ability to write concise, clear and effective narratives in reporting, in presentations, and contributions to proposals and communicate effectively to a wide-variety of audiences, including technical and executive-level

  • Interest in developing innovative, thought leadership, related to decarbonization.

  • A desire to always deliver technical excellence

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00.
