AECOM Canada Water Resources Lead in Mississauga, Ontario

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water Resources Market Sector Leader for Canada. This position can be based out of any of our Canadian offices.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, communicate and own the deployment of the strategy to advance AECOM’s position in the Water Resources market sector as serviced by the Water team across Canada.

  • Success will be measured in:

  • Achieving the market sector wins and booking targets including the establishment of capture managers and capture plans on top/key pursuits while adhering to the allotted business development budget.

  • Effectively communicate the strategy and the deployment of the strategy to the involved team. Ensures that others involved in strategy are kept informed about developments and necessary plan details.

  • Identifying and being accountable for the effective capture management of the top pursuits and key pursuits in the Water Resources market sector across Canada.

  • Establishing relationships and regular touch bases with key clients within the market sector.

  • Aiding Operation Management in the identification and solicitation of key hires within the market sector to capitalize on growth and deploy succession planning.

  • Responsible for the accuracy of the Salesforce pipeline information relating to the opportunities in the respective market sector. Monitors performance through utilizing reports to track sales growth, BD cost management and achieving wins/bookings targets.

  • Lead and represent the local market sector to the internal AECOM network including Canada’s Water Region Business Line Leader (RBLL), Director of Operations, Americas Water Business Line Market Sector Leaders for any internal AECOM business function and reporting needs.

  • Researches, interprets and reports client trends for the purpose of formulating strategy.

  • In coordination with Regional Water leadership, support in the client follow-up coming from client feedback surveys. Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients.

  • Lead or establish the coordination of the team's participation in key conferences and sponsorship opportunities related to the respective market sector.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Civil Engineering or related field + 8 years of water resources project experience

  • Registered as a P. Eng

  • Knowledge of water resources policies and practices

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of water resources experience

  • Experience delegating to less experienced staff is an asset

  • Design and construction experience related to transportation/ transit infrastructure, stormwater and/or erosion and slope stability projects will be considered an asset

  • Experience including preparation of cost estimates and tender packages as well as contract administration

  • Experience with Fluvial Geomorphology / Natural Channel design would be considered a strong asset

  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling would be an asset

  • PMP Designation

  • Experience with various water resources modeling programs e.g. HEC-RAS, SWMM, SWMHYMO, VISUAL OTTHYMO, InfoWorks, etc

  • Experience in proposal preparation including determining work scope, preparing time task breakdowns and preparing text sections on technical approach, team and project experience, etc.

  • Interested and capable to take on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing etc.)

  • Ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively and work with others is essential

  • Strong computer skills including advanced working knowledge of GIS, Word and Excel

  • Must possess excellent organizational, communication
