AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Operator I, Traffic Monitoring for immediate employment in our Miami, FL office.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for monitoring the roadways, including detecting, confirming, updating, and responding to scheduled and unscheduled traffic events and congestion with ITS devices such as closed circuit TV, detectors, etc.
The operator will act like a 911 dispatcher within a call center environment dispatching Road Rangers via a two-way radio system to assist motorists, respond to events and other activities that required timely and efficient responses
High School Diploma and or equivalent certificate(GED)
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; must also successfully complete Joint Task Force (JTF) Security Clearance Process which includes fingerprinting process
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
Must participate in and successfully complete a post-offer. pre-employment fitness for duty questionnaire
Good interpersonal skills
Good data entry skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate clearly
Ability to work alternate work schedules and on-call duties at a 24 hour operation center
Skilled in the use of Windows based applications, preferred Internet Explorer, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of two-way communication systems
Knowledge of the freeway systems within Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an office environment.Position requires frequent keyboard/mouse operations, performing repetitive fine hand movements, and sitting for long periods of time; Rarely standing/walking. Position will include wearing a dispatch headset, viewing CCTV camera displays, and listening to law enforcement radio broadcasts
Knowledge of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras
Knowledge of Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and/or Highway Advisory Radio (HAR)
Knowledge of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)
Knowledge of Incident Command System or NIMS
One or more years of college
Experienced workers from a Call Center, Police/Fire Dispatch Center, or TMC environment either as an operator, call taker, or dispatcher is a plus
