AECOM Sr. Environmental Project Manager in Mexico City, Mexico

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a Sr. Environmental Project Manager for employment in the Mexico City office. The successful applicant will join a network of existing AECOM specialists across the world to assist in project delivery. Our Mexico office offers a variety of environmental assessment, investigation, remediation, and survey services to Federal, State, and local government agencies; Fortune 500 corporations; and many manufacturing and commercial clients. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include management of staff and business development on all facets of environmental site characterization, remediation, and compliance projects for clients in the industrial and oil/gas sector, with the goals of:

  • Delivering high quality products/outcomes

  • Meeting financial and timeline performance requirements

  • Achieving client satisfaction

  • Maintaining staff utilization

  • Manage and lead a variety of projects with a focus on soil and groundwater investigations and remedial efforts

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, biologists, and/or GIS specialists in the preparation of technical reports, drawings, and specifications

  • Delegate work, mentor, and supervise less experienced staff while managing projects of varying size and complexity

  • Identify and develop new clients and work, manage existing clients and contracts, and lead/assist marketing endeavors

  • Assist or manage the preparation of proposals, and provide creative project approaches through written, verbal, and graphic communication

  • Manages all phases of projects (from beginning to close out)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental related field required

  • 8+ years of relevant project experience with clients in the industrial and oil/gas sectors

  • PM/technical management experience in environmental characterization/remediation sectors

  • Proven track recorded for client relationship development (both existing and new)

  • Experience managing staff/teams in the practice discipline and able to demonstrate leadership for our teams

  • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management, ability to analyze financial statements and complete budget tracking

  • Regulatory knowledge (SEMARNAT, ASEA) and experience related to the projects in our key market sectors

  • Ability to represent clients with the public as appropriate. Must have the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments for private sector, state, and municipal clients. Must be capable of growing and securing business opportunities

  • Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to successfully manage diverse teams, and successfully manage/deliver project scope, schedule and budget

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective, excellent client presentations and written report preparation, and demonstrated ability to communicate with, and coordinate technicians and junior staff for the execution of high-quality work in a team environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Work, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
