Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical oversight of operation and maintenance activities for mechanical systems and equipment.

The Mechanical Engineer will assess mechanical infrastructure conditions and support OMB and CIB in the development of high reliability and high quality maintenance programs and long term recapitalization plans.Work with technicians to optimize the reliability and quality of mechanical operations to include equipment maintenance plans and schedules, and troubleshooting problems.

  • Chillers (1000 Ton+ each)

  • Cooling Towers

  • Pumps and Piping Distribution Systems

  • Water Treatment

  • Air Handling Systems

  • Air Handling Units

  • Ductwork Distribution Systems

  • Variable Air Volume Systems

  • Indoor Air Quality

  • Heating systems

  • High and Low Pressure Boilers

  • Steam Distribution Piping

  • Humidification

  • Chemical Treatment

  • Monitor and Control Systems

  • Programmable Logic Controllers

  • Building Automation

  • Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition Systems

  • Emergency Power Generation

  • Turbine Generators

  • Diesel Engine Generators

  • Fuel Storage and Distribution Systems

  • Environmental Emission Control

  • Operation and Maintenance

Minimum Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in mechanical engineering.

  • 5-10 years of experience supporting the operation and maintenance of large facilities comparable to the Headquarters compound

  • Experience in design and/or operation of commercial buildings systems. Such as: heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; high and low pressure steam boilers; electrical generators; indoor air quality; plumbing, and monitor and control systems.

  • Registration as a licensed professional engineer is very desired.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a diverse team in a very high quality and reliability technical environment.

  • Familiarity with facility safety and fire protection systems, and with quality control programs.

  • Must be a U.S citizen able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
