Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Estimator Electrical responsible to prepare man-hours and material cost estimates for the performance of operations, maintenance, repairs and renovations to commercial office buildings requiring the participation of single and multiple trades.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Estimate man-hours—converting them to a cost estimate

  • Accomplish material take-offs—converting them to a cost estimate

  • Interface with customers, project managers, designers and engineers

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum five years of hands on electrical Journeyman trade construction experience required with a sound working knowledge, skill and ability to accomplish cost estimates for other trades, such as carpentry and mechanical. General knowledge and use of computer based programs such as Maximo, RS Means/Sage-Timberline, MS Excel and MS Word

  • Must be able to read and write the English language

  • Must be proficient in typing and writing—sentences typed and written legibly

  • Must be able to read and decipher blue prints/drawings and perform take-offs off of them

  • Must be detail oriented with good organizational and people skills

Must be able to meet light physical demands—lift up to 20 pounds, reach, pull, stoop and bend

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience, knowledge and use of an RS Means/Sage-Timberline computer based program

  • Associates degree or a masters electrical license or certification equivalent
