AECOM Wastewater Process EIT in Markham, Ontario

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Wastewater Process EIT for full-time position to be based in the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, Markham, Whitby).

The responsibilities of this position included but are not limited to:

  • Participate in contract administration services during the construction of wastewater infrastructure and facilities

  • Assist in commissioning activities related to wastewater treatment process start-up

  • Participate in wastewater engineering/process design activities including preparation of design calculations, equipment sizing and selection, process layouts, engineering specifications and cost estimates

  • Work collaboratively on multidisciplinary design teams and assist with design coordination tasks

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

  • Perform municipal wastewater treatment plant site investigations, data collection and analysis activities

  • Prepare technical memoranda, and contribute to preliminary and detailed design reports

  • Prepare permitting applications for local regulatory agencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental or Civil Engineering

  • 2+ years of process design experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants and related infrastructure

  • Proficient in common desktop packages, i.e. Word, Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of process design experience in Wastewater Treatment Plants and related infrastructure

  • Registered in Ontario as P.Eng., or EIT and on path to receive P.Eng. certification within 1 year of hiring

  • Wastewater process, design and commissioning capabilities

  • General understanding of instrumentation and process controls

  • Experience with large wastewater treatment plants (>200 MLD)

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD and, MicroStation) is an asset

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills

  • Motivated, team player, independent, organized with strong business acumen

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
