AECOM Site Inspector in Markham, Ontario

AECOM is seeking a resident Site Inspector to be based out of one of our Greater Toronto Area locations (Whitby, Markham or Mississauga).

This position is a full time role and is expected to begin in July, 2022.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • May assist with training entry-level employees.

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

  • Perform daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.

  • Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

  • Track quality assurance progress.

  • Provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or relevant technical education.

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) OR Certified Technician (C.Tech) AND/OR Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC).

  • Member of Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).

  • Road Construction Junior Inspector (rcji).

  • Valid Driving License is required and access to a reliable vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of site inspection experience in projects involving odour control facilities, water distribution systems, sewage collection systems, sewage pumping stations, sanitary sewer rehabilitation or, other similar projects.

  • Managing civil construction projects greater than $2 Million.

  • Exposure to construction methods of open cut, watertight closed sheeting, vertical trenching and all other trenchless technologies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Accuracy with details is essential.

  • Experience working around mobile heavy equipment.

  • Familiar with materials testing procedures and construction coordination services.

  • Ability to read and interpret Civil construction drawings and specifications

  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset

  • Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control (CISEC)
