Job Description
AECOM's Markham, ON office is looking for a Digital Specialist - Solutions Analytics & Simulation. This is a full time role. The digital specialist will join the AECOM ENV digital transformation team in supporting project teams with their digital roll-out.
At project inception this entails ascertaining project needs, identifying the appropriate tools and processes, configuring the tools if needed, and providing training materials and access. As the projects are ongoing, support is provided in the form of feedback-driven changes to the tools, troubleshooting and assistance with scope changes. Project close-out provides the opportunity for debriefing and carrying forward lessons learned.
The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator with knowledge of environmental consulting (including field work) and the digital tools that can support it. They will also need the ability to find creative solutions to problems in a rapidly evolving environment.
Primary Role : Support environmental project teams in digitizing their data flows
KPIs : Cost savings from digitization, positive feedback from project teams, efficiencies and integration across business lines and geographies
Main Responsibilities
Support project teams with their digital roll-out.
Help project teams troubleshoot or guide them through the process of retrieving their data through dashboards.
Leverages existing tools in order to best support AECOM’s digitization.
Develop or configure new tools for field data collection, data management and reporting as the need arises.
Work collaboratively with the digital transformation team across the Americas to carry forward best practices and lessons learned.
Write documentation and user manuals for the tools.
Help integrate the platforms being used (GIS, EQuIS, Power BI and others).
Identify new opportunities and applications for the tool kits.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in the relavent areas of expertise.
Minimum 2 years of proven experience in environmental consulting, including field work.
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies
Experience with GIS, EQuIS and/or Power BI an asset.
Coding skills (or the interest and ability to learn).
Strong organizational skills and results orientation.
Excellent communication skills.
Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills.
Entrepreneurial spirit with drive to take on a creative role and the accountability and responsibility that comes with it.
Digital/Technical Hybrid – The candidate will need to understand both the tools and the potential field constraints a team may experience. To this end they will have technical skills in both environmental consulting and the digital world.
Change Management Leader – drives positive change across the organization with the ability to work across all levels, backgrounds, and business units to create a positive, forward looking culture.
Client Focused – the client” is an internal project team, but the attitude is no different. The project teams need a service they can rely on and will return to.
Communicates Masterfully – builds broad and deep networks, uses a full range of available communication mediums to inspire and engage others, demonstrates empathy, understanding and exceptional active listening skills.
Bilingual candidates preferred - French and English.
