Job Summary

This position is located in Mannheim , Germany.

Responsible for the day-to-day Quality Control activities for APS-2 European Activity Set. Provides direction and support to assigned personnel on current principles, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the disciple.

a) Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements and process improvements.

b) Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements.

c) Issues discipline when required

d) Conduct interviews, selects and places candidates into open positions.

  1. Coordinates and directs the work plan for assigned staff.

  2. Establish and verifies procedures used are adequate for the effective control of Quality Control

Specialist and Inspectors.

  1. Coordinates with maintenance personnel when in-depth technical problems arise and mechanical

knowledge is required

  1. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates

and minimal lost-time injuries.

  1. Adheres to quality management system requirements established under ISO 9001:2015.

  2. Maintains current and accurate records required for implementation and administration of an effective

quality program.

  1. Utilizes analytical techniques and causative research skills to identify areas of needed emphasis and to

recommend improvements.

  1. Provides required reports and deliverables in a timely manner.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

  • At least eight (6) years of supervisory or lead experience in a maintenance environment required.

  • Appropriate verbal and written communication skills to conduct meetings, execute plans, prepare reports, plans and working instructions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact well with the customer and with employees at all levels.

  • Through knowledge of analytical techniques and causative research skills.

  • A comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instruction in Quality Control.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion, good judgment, and solid decision making skills.

  • Must have basic knowledge in the compliance of the Army Maintenance Management System and the Army Supply System (Class IX) interfaces.

  • Must have expert knowledge in the operation of all vehicle, equipment and components in an Army Preposition Stocks (APS) environment.

  • Must have experience with managing and auditing ISO 9001:2008 or 2015 Quality Management Systems.

Specialized knowledge and skills:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), and other software programs to assist with special projects.

  • ISO 9001:2008 or 2015 Internal Auditor Training Course Certificate required.

Position may require travel.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Preferred Qualifications

ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certificate preferred.
