This position is located in Mannheim and Dulmen, Germany.
The Inspector – Weapons will inspect all activities and personnel engaged in maintenance and repair of small arms, field artillery and armament systems for the Army Prepositioned Stocks – 2 (APS-2) contract. As the Inspector – Weapons, the duties under this job title are to perform field and sustainment maintenance on small arms, infantry weapons and towed artillery; responsible for the direct and general support maintenance; include the M240 series, M320, MK 19, M9, M249, M500, CROW, M4, M16, Remote Weapons Station (RWS), M777A2 Howitzer, and 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm Mortars; responsible for the Clean, Inspect, Service, Repair, Disposition, Evacuation and Movement of all Weapons in support of APS-2.
Responsible for assisting with all programs and missions involving repair and COSIS of weapons systems as configured into packaged unit sets. Responsible for combat readiness and assist with management of a Direct Support/General Support maintenance mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Inspects all repairs completed on the above mentioned equipment.
Inspects all repairs, replacements and/or modification barrel assemblies, upper receivers, lower receivers, gas tubes, gas rings, feed trays, feed pawls, buffers, and their related components.
Determines serviceability of parts; exercises initiative to maintain productive progress and accepts responsibility for the results.
Oversees the use of common hand-tools and shop equipment to ensure employee safety.
Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of tow artillery or small arms weapons, with little or no supervision, using a variety of diagnostic techniques and practices.
Instruct other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of small arms and tow artillery maintenance and related TMDE.
Maintains discipline and enforces performance standards.
Performs other duties and assignments as required.
Maintain a daily timesheet and daily manning report and ensuring times are accurate.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to situations where risk of electrical shock and vibration exist. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Qualification & Experience Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
5 years of related work experience. Prior military experience is a plus. Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be able to meet and maintain all base access security requirements.
Must be able to meet and maintain all Logistic Information System (LIS) access requirements (Common Access Card).
Specialized knowledge and skills:
Experienced in the using the Army War Reserve Deployment System (AWRDS).
Experienced in the using the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) Unique Logistics Support Applications (TULSA) and Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW).
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Military experience preferred.
