The job covers a broad range of hydrogeological activities including groundwater resource evaluation and development; hydrogeological impact assessment of major infrastructure schemes including water, transport, mines and tunnels; and groundwater control and dewatering. Projects are UK based and international for a range of clients including contractors and water companies.
This is your opportunity to work alongside a team of specialist water resources hydrogeologists on a variety of projects for a range of different clients in different sectors.
We are looking for a hydrogeologist with a relevant degree, an MSc in hydrogeology or related subject and a few years of relevant experience to join our specialist Groundwater and Water Resources team located in Bristol. The team is part of the Environment and Ground Engineering group in AECOM.
The Groundwater and Water Resources Consultant will carry out some field work and assist in delivery of consultancy and advisory services to both internal and external clients to a high level of technical quality and to programme and budget.
Collection of hydrogeological and hydrological field data including supervision of drilling and testing;
Collating and interpreting data and developing conceptual and numerical models;
Preparation of groundwater and water resource assessments;
Hydrogeological Environmental Impact Assessments and Hydrogeological Risk Assessments;
Dewatering and seepage analysis;
Presenting information in reports and working with a team of other specialists.
A flexible and adaptable ‘can do’ attitude will be required to meet the challenge of a range of projects.
Current driving licence essential.
Member of a relevant professional body.
Good working knowledge of excel and GIS/CAD.
Ability to prepare conceptual hydrogeological models.
Report writing with attention to detail.
- The successful individual should have a proven technical ability in groundwater and water resources with some experience of data collection, collation and interpretation.
- You will have a relevant degree and an MSc in water resources, hydrogeology or other relevant subject.
