Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a SONAR Test Engineer to perform a variety of engineering assignments in planning and overseeing research, development, design, manufacture, test, installation, operation, and maintenance of diverse electronic/mechanical SONAR Systems during software development to include supporting in-service and new construction platforms. The position is part of the Navy On-Site Team at Lockheed Martin Manassas, VA.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Performance Verification Tests.

  2. Perform Validation and Verification of Program Trouble Reports.

  3. Ability to investigate, troubleshoot and design solutions to problems in operational software and hardware.

  4. Qualify as Baseline Coordinator and Test Director.

  5. Coordinate Baseline Software Certification and Demonstration events.

  6. Complete and maintain all Baseline Software Certification and Demonstration event reports and logs.

  7. Attend meetings and submit reports as directed and required by leading personnel and governing documentation.

  8. Qualify to setup and use various test support equipment.

  9. Coordinate with prime vendor and partners to schedule and manage test and retest schedules.

  10. Perform independent operational and functional testing on software throughout the development cycle.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of seven or more years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field.

  • Must have a professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles, and a familiarity with related engineering fields.

  • Must have practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions.

  • Position requires an active secret clearance.

  • Position may require travel.
