AECOM Europe GDC BIM Lead in Madrid, Spain

Job Summary

  • Collaborates with GDS leadership on the Europe GDC stand up process.

  • The BIM (Building Information Modeling) Manager is responsible for implementing GDS BIM initiative for Transportation and Water Projects within Europe GDC, but also assisting other GDCs.

  • Requires identification, development, evaluation, implementation and management of BIM standards and procedures.

  • Develops and implements BIM standards, templates, automation routines, documentation and workflow process standards. Capable of defining a BIM Strategy for a specific client/Project, but also a BIM Execution Plan and workflows to coordinate better the participation of different parties involved.

  • Assists with different software packages (Civil3D, Revit, Aecosim, OpenRoads, etc.), detailing, quantity takeoff, family creation, parametric 3D modeling as per project requirements.

  • Categorizes packages of work off-shored to the GDS group, elaborates project execution plans and in combination with Home Office defines the BIM strategy, including composition of design teams.

  • Partners with GDC offices to ensure delivery and execution challenges are understood.

  • Responsible for leading a BIM team working for internal clients, integrating resources from different GDS offices (Spain, Poland, India, etc.)

Minimum Requirements

  • 12+ years in civil and infrastructure projects; preferably transportation infrastructure projects (road and rail)

  • 4+ years managing BIM teams

  • US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably

  • Proven track record of working as a BIM Manager or BIM Coordinator for Civil & Infrastructure Projects, collaborating with international and multi-cultural teams.

  • Experience with various related software packages (Civil3D; Open Roads, Revit, Aecosim, Naviswork, Dynamo, etc.)

  • Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.

  • Demonstrable management skills and presence

  • Fluent in English (oral and written)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering / Architecture from a recognised University
