Job Summary

As part of the Buildings and Places (B&P) Bids team, you will work closely with the members of the B&P teams and other AECOM markets to convert strategic pursuits into wins. You will be responsible for the management of end-to-end bid process and managing activities across a range of disciplines and identifying and delivering winning strategies. In addition to managing strategic pursuits, you will work proactively with the B&P team to drive continuous improvement for bids and actively engage in initiative within the sector to improve the win rate.

Key to your success will be your ability to establish and maintain relationships with your stakeholders quickly, influence your peers in best practice bidding techniques and operate in a collaborative and diplomatic manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pro-active management of Buildings & Places strategic pursuits

  • Raising the awareness of best practice bidding throughout the sector

  • Interviewing Subject Matter Experts to produce persuasive and compliant responses

  • Writing tender responses

  • Facilitating workshops for opportunity capture, win strategy, messaging and storyboards

  • Facilitating colour reviews

  • Coaching and running rehearsals for all strategic pursuit presentations

  • Where required, working with graphics resource to ensure high end production

  • Increasing win rate of the B&P sector

While your home base will be in Madrid, Spain, there may be some international/regional travel required.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3 years’ experience, with a proven record of bid management

  • Ability to write in a clear and persuasive manner

  • Able to work collaboratively with others and promote collaborative working relationships

  • Ability to influence others at all levels of business

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Maintains professional relationships, whilst working to rigid deadlines

  • Takes immediate ownership of the tender process

  • Enjoys building and developing strong relationships to successfully develop their role

  • A natural communicator with excellent written and oral presentation skills

  • Able to work under extremes of pressure whilst maintaining a professional approach

  • Excellent time management skills and able to prioritise a busy schedule and workload

  • Dedicated to exceeding the expectations and requirements of internal and/or external customers

  • Painstakingly organised and with a keen eye for detail

  • A finisher, with the attitude to go the extra mile

  • Team player, demonstrate a positive attitude to lead and motivate others

  • ‘Can do’ attitude and solution provider

  • Deep understanding of best practice methodologies, such as Shipley

Preferred Qualifications

  • APMP Foundation or Practitioner

  • InDesign
