AECOM Principal Civil Engineer / Project Manager Mining in Mackay, Australia

Job Summary

As a result of several significant project wins across the region and based on our growth strategy, AECOM’s Resources, Power & Industrial (RPI) Team is looking for a passionate and highly driven Civil Engineer / Project Manager who is looking to further develop their career in leading, winning and delivering civil infrastructure and multi-discipline projects. This new role will enable us to continue to support our current internal and external clients, whilst focusing on new pursuits to further grow and sustain our team.

Typical types of engineering projects for our Resources customers relate to: mine-site water management, light vehicle / heavy vehicle roads, creek diversions, pumping/piping infrastructure, materials handling infrastructure, 66kV to 415V power systems, water modelling / drainage, dams, structural integrity, construction quality assurance…

Working with a high performing team, you will source, win, manage and deliver projects for a diverse range of clients from BHP, Glencore and other mining / civil infrastructure clients. As part of this role you will not only perform technical Civil Engineering / project delivery activities, but you will also actively identify opportunities for developing new service offerings, and mentor and coach junior engineers.

We are seeking a future leader with an interest in succession and long-term growth in AECOM - an individual who is looking to be continually challenged and develop their career into a multitude of potential pathways within a global organisation. Working on a range of projects, some of which have capital value up to, and exceeding, $150M, this role will give you the opportunity to develop and shape your career, with opportunities to travel and be mobile, or opportunities to carve a career within our supportive Mackay office.

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in successfully winning and delivering Civil Infrastructure / Multi-discipline projects to a high standard, within budget and on time;

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary projects;

  • Passionate about developing yourself to be a future leader and initiator of our local strategy to grow the Mining sector water/civil capability;

  • Enjoy working with people and passion to mentor and lead teams plus interact with customers;

  • 8+ years’ experience.

Your ability to mentor others, deliver on promise and building / maintain strong client relationships will be key to your success in this role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or equivalent);

  • Project management experience;

  • Business development experience;

  • RPEQ/CPEng (desirable).
