AECOM Senior Project Manager in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented and experienced Senior Project Manager for employment in the Los Angeles, CA office who has significant experience with construction of large multi-site facilities. This position will work with public and private clients.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and oversee design/construction teams throughout design/construction phase activities, coordinate project activities and provide oversight to maintain operations of existing healthcare or hospital facilities

  • Oversee contractor meetings and coordinate with client, perform constructability reviews, pricing and cost impacts due to phasing and timing

  • Analyze and recommend alternative project delivery strategies for different components of the program that might offer cost, schedule, quality and coordination benefits Support in the coordination of procurement/delivery packages

  • Manage construction schedule, capital construction budgets and oversee quality of execution

  • Manage RFP development, client DB procurement process, design and construction

  • Attend Design Review Meetings and coordinate Requests for Clarification

  • Supervise all document control

  • Lead weekly project meetings and special meetings including recording minutes and action items

  • Plan, direct, and supervise all operations for assigned project(s)

  • Manage cost and schedule for assigned project(s)

  • Report out as required on project health

  • Oversee and be responsible for timely and accurate invoicing and billing, change orders, and project closeout

  • Manage crews via the project superintendent to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently and with quality

  • Ensure all field and office-based reporting is accurate and timely

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant project managers

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years of related experience, including project management for multiple construction, engineering, and/or architecture projects

  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to continuously improve technical skills and quality

  • Available for work/travel outside normal office hours & inter-departments, as required

  • Ability to work well under pressure with an organized approach to managing tasks, time and workload

  • Display strong attention to detail with the ability to research & review documents and draw conclusions to support recommendations

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and SharePoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate efficiently with staff members, client, field crews, and customers and their stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead and resolve issues proactively and work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment

  • Due to nature of the work U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline

  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer license in California and/or certified Construction Manager

  • 15 years of experience as a Project Manager/Construction Manager in the role of owner’s representative

  • Management of $100M+ design-build projects consisting of office administrative buildings, infrastructure improvements and/or laboratories.

  • Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, Job Order Contract, and Best-Value experience

  • Experience in LEED Gold (or higher) certified projects
