AECOM Project Manager - Healthcare in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

AECOM PMCM Group is currently seeking to identify a qualified individual to present as Project Manager (PM) for Healthcare. Projects typically involve planning, design, construction, commissioning and closeout of projects totaling $25M in total capital cost. This key role presents an excellent career development opportunity.

The PM, working closely and in concert with the Senior Project Manager (SPM), will serve in a key role executing day-to-day project and construction management responsibilities and will be instrumental to the successful development, implementation and delivery of the project.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consultant Collaboration: Work with the SPM and project consultants and builders in a highly effective project team.

  • Project Delivery Strategy: Assist the SPM in the delivery strategy including contract type, phasing, bid packaging, constructability, and temporary operations.

  • Communications: Assist the SPM with establishment of communications necessary to the client, public, local businesses, politicians, other agencies and the regulatory community. Participate in briefings with the SPM to the client and their project participants on key project milestones, issues, and budget.

  • Jurisdictional Agencies: Assist owner, SPM, design, and builder teams with reviews by the healthcare jurisdictional agencies.

  • Design Management: Assist the SPM with the analysis of project document completeness and design discipline, medical equipment, and FFE coordination.

  • Construction Management: Provide daily oversight of on-site construction activities assisting as the liaison between healthcare and construction operations, including the safe and well-planned shut downs, cut overs, and transitions.

  • Project Controls: Participate project controls including scheduling, budgeting, cost control, cash flow, QA/QC, risk analysis, document control and management information systems.

  • Document Controls: Ensure that RFI’s, Inspection Requests, OSHPD Field Directives are addressed in a timely manner as to mitigate impacts to the project’s milestones.

  • Change Management: Assist in the change management including required notifications, communications to client, and resolution with consultants and builders.

  • Medical Equipment: Provide oversight of the necessary infrastructure required for medical equipment (and FF&E) including confirming with design and builder teams that support, backing, utilities, and the like are procured and installed in a timely manner.

  • Safety: Ensure participants have specific and well-developed safety, infection control, and health plans for working around and within healthcare environments.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus ten (10) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Minimum two (2) years of OSHPD experience

  • Understanding of hospital operations and maintaining operations during construction

  • Managed projects in excess of $50M

  • Design-Build experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with bed towers

  • Experience with parking structures and seismic upgrades

  • Central Utility Plant experience

  • Experience within Southern California
