AECOM Lead Mechanical Engineer in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

AECOM B+P is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Engineer Lead for immediate employment in their Los Angeles, CA office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide project planning, project management and organizational time management skills to projects

  • Has extensive understanding of HVAC engineering fundamentals including load calculations, conceptual systems analysis through construction documentation design, design and layout of equipment

  • Develops innovative solutions to challenging opportunities

  • Analyze and provide solutions to complex challenges

  • Provide team and project discipline leadership

  • Provide team member development

  • Ability to concisely express complex system solutions in very early phases in order to share intent either internally for further development or externally to assist design partners

  • Provide project mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems design inter-disciplinary coordination lead, for coordination with other trades and consultants.

  • Provide review and edit to specifications

  • Provide review to team member for quality and recognition of training requirements

  • Interact and work with diverse set of clients and subcontractors

  • Provide ownership of team metrics (utilization, finances, performance reviews)

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • 6 + years of mechanical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firm

  • State of California Professional Engineer Licensed/Mechanical

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience

  • Documented experience with advance design, and technological challenging design with high profile technology firms working to fast paced schedules

  • Expertise in Corporate Commercial, Federal Markets

  • Experience with AutoCAD/Revit (Revit is highly preferred)

  • Experience with Design Build and other Alternative Delivery practice

  • Excellent communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Thrive as al leader with effective teamwork skills

  • Enjoy developing innovative solutions to challenging opportunities

  • Have a high degree of integrity, professional ethics, respect and responsibility
