Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Landscape Architect Designer for employment in the Los Angeles, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The Landscape Architecture portfolio includes a broad range of multidisciplinary public and private realm projects, such as streetscapes, campus design, transportation, green infrastructure, ecological/remediation restoration and mixed-use. The candidate will work closely with our in-house project design teams; project landscape architects, engineers, planners, environmental scientists, architects and designers to design and assist in the execution of projects within the Southern California region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform technical design tasks

  • Perform design and programming tasks

  • Perform construction administration for current and future projects

  • Prepare construction documents and specifications, cost estimates, and hand and computer drawings (including renderings and illustrative presentation boards)

  • Project management and coordination

  • Participate at client and agency meetings

  • Assist in mentoring and developing the skills of junior landscape design staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or related field

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to effectively manage time and self-edit work

  • Proficiency and passion for creating compelling design, with an ability to develop the work through the technical design phases

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team

  • Demonstrated production and digital rendering experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino and Sketch-Up

  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field

  • Construction administration experience/background

  • Experience in In-Design or ArcGIS

  • Strong knowledge/interest in plant materials
