Job Summary

As the Immersive Technology Intern you will work closely with design teams across multiple business lines including architecture, interior design, landscape design, urban design, marketing and transportation to integrate projects into high quality immersive experiences. You will develop and launch applications for platforms including and not limited to the Hololens, Oculus Rift, Gear VR and upcoming releases like Magic Leap.

Under guidance and supervision, you will be responsible for creating and optimizing immersive content for the best performance to quality ratio per deployment platform. You will create customized applications for team to team collaboration and team to client visualization / communication, as well as pioneer innovative solutions on the backend.

You will champion the creation of new forms of UI / UX design by ‘front end’ development in 3D programs and coding in Visual Studio. This will include network development for shared immersive experience. You will be responsible for presentations and demonstrations using immersive hardware. You will teach / assist teams and clients on how to use the technology and how to plan for its integration.

Minimum Requirements

  • Ongoing Education - B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science.

  • Ongoing Education - B.S. or M.S. in Architecture / Engineering / Game Design or related field.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Be able to work well with multiple teams.

  • Must be organized and a self-starter who will go the extra mile to see a project delivered to a high standard.

  • Understanding of computer systems hardware/software as it relates to VR / AR / MR / XR performance, frame rates, draw calls, occlusion culling.

  • Familiarity with OpenGL. GPU programing is a plus.

  • Floating point precision error knowledge is a plus

  • Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Hololens / Oculus Rift / HTC Vive / Gear VR ++ 1 + years’ experience in Visualization, Rendering and Animation

  • 1 + years’ coding in C#, Java, Python + Visual Studio / Monodevelop

  • 1 + years’ professional experience developing in Unity3D, Unreal or CryEngine

  • 1 + years’ experience in Design Programs: Rhino 5 + Grasshopper, Revit, 3ds Max, Maya ++ 2 + years’ experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustator, InDesign and After Effects ++ Understanding of non-uniform ration b-spline polysurface vs mesh 3D content creation and management

  • Understanding of physics, algebra, and calculus as they relate to interactive technology and game engine integration

  • Understanding of rendering, texture development, UV mapping, materials, shaders, animation, UI / UX design, performance profiling
