Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer, the duties include but are not limited to:

  • Process, review and approve Utility Coordinator NOtification documents, including technical knowledge on reading Construction Plans, Utility NOtices and Summaries of First Notice Replies necessary for Contract Bid Advertisements

  • Process, review and coordinate the completion of Award Board Reports for Construction Project for PWw projects to be accepted by the Board of Public Works

  • Process, review and approve calculations for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise participation percentages to be approved by Caltrans for federally-funded construction projects and similar

  • Coordinate with LADOT for services not available to that department, including utility coordination, bid advertisement and utility relocation coordination of Construction projects

  • Coordinate quarterly meeting with LADWP construction project issues and facililtate execute power and water utility relocation as required by the project

  • Review and maintain several tracking processes for numerous project delivery phases

  • Organize electronic files for current and past projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering or other related field required

  • Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office software

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
