Job Summary

AECOM has a new job vacancy for a Structural Engineer to be based in our Central London office in Aldgate Tower. You will work as part of a team to provide designs, calculations and project management services to our clients. Our team focuses on London based commercial, residential, mixed-use developments and towers which will give you a variety of experience to enhance your building design and management knowledge.

You will be responsible for helping with the structural engineering design of complex Engineering projects whilst you are mentored by our senior Engineers towards chartership.

About Our Team:

We are leaders in the structural engineering delivery of multi-million pound projects in London for prestigious clients within the Commercial sector.

Our ethos requires you to demonstrate a passion for the Engineering world and bring ambition and drive to maintain high quality technical delivery on our complex engineering projects.

Types of building include prime residential, high-spec offices, complex masterplan developments, complex oversite buildings on top of existing infrastructure developments and very significant public sector projects within the Central London market. Our team are ambitious and dynamic, and we promote an agile working policy based on trust that we will always produce good quality outcomes and deliver on time.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for helping with the structural engineering design of complex Engineering projects with support from our team and senior engineers. This involves using design and calculation software, drafting reports to be reviewed by other team members, working on tender submissions and working through challenging construction problems.

You will need to be comfortable supporting projects and be happy to attend both formal progress meetings with clients and informal design workshop situations with other members of the Design Team.

You will need to be a good communicator in both external and internal situations for our clients and colleagues, and you will have technical experience in conceptual design to create cost-efficient engineering solutions with various construction materials.

Ideally you will be proficient in the use of various design analysis software in the delivery projects and be able to collaborate with management. You will also be able to maintain an outstanding technical quality, be interested in new Engineering products and technologies and strive for successful outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

  • University Engineering Degree of BEng, MSc or Meng or equivalent

  • Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate

  • Experience designing in post-tensioned concrete is not essential, but advantageous.

  • Experience in the London Market (Complicated ground works, Private sector stakeholders, mixed use developments and heritage buildings)
