AECOM is currently seeking a Lighting Designer for our London Office.
You will support major design and construction projects by initiating and developing engineering drawings through completion for assigned projects in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by the project’s discipline engineers.
You will have proven design experience delivering quality within time and budget. This role will suit someone with an electrical engineering / building services degree or professional experience within a design consultancy

Our industry leading and award-winning MEP team consists of over 500 people nationwide. The mechanical and electrical engineers work on projects within residential, commercial, aviation, defence, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, sports, and leisure.
As part of your role you will be able to complete design assignments of moderate complexity. You will also be able to develop engineering drawings of moderate complexity under supervision.
You will need to understand the below in order to perform this role with us. These are:
Understands the process of preparing designs and drawings using project specifications and discipline-associated written and verbal instructions in accordance with established design practices, standards, and procedures.
Fully understands the purpose and use of vendor documents and reviews discipline supplier documents for accuracy.
Basic knowledge of the use of requisitions and the role of materials management.
Assists in the collection of data on manpower, man-hour, and labour costs requirements for design staff to aid in evaluating the budget.
Basic knowledge of cost estimating methods and performs material take-offs for the discipline.
Intermediate knowledge of discipline’s materials costs and concept of cost analysis and forecasting.
Basic knowledge of the project change control process and can identify a potential change.
Basic understanding of the discipline’s equipment and material lists.
Apply a solid level of understanding within a specific discipline.
Familiar with codes, permits, and software applications related to the discipline.
Basic understanding of Engineer’s process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design.
Relevant degree or professional qualification relating to lighting design
Work experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning
Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
