Job Summary

Due to continued Growth and expansion of the Buildings and Places team in South East England, AECOM are looking for an experienced MEP Director with a proven track record in client management, team development and project delivery.

The post will be based in the busy and centrally located South East England office. The role will suit someone looking to develop their career with company that is undergoing exciting change and that offer clients a multi disciplinary offer.

This is an exciting time for AECOM, we are experiencing significant growth with interesting and expanding pipeline of both international and locally based projects. As an MEP Director you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the regional team, whilst being instrumental in helping AECOM to create, enhance and sustain the world’s built, natural and social environments


  • Become a key member of the regional MEP team.

  • Act as main point of contact for strategic clients supporting the development of multiple relationships between the client and AECOM.

  • Drive market-focused solutions and explore new opportunities with clients.

  • Act as a member of AECOM leadership team in the Business Unit.

  • Provide guidance, direction and ultimate oversight of engineering engagements and appointments.

  • Participate in setting the direction and goals for MEP practice line in the region.

  • Act as leader on technical engineering issues.

  • Lead the technology strategy for the MEP business.

  • Lead sustainable design approach on projects in UK and aboard.

  • Mentor and develop managers and staff in the Business Unit to drive a culture of excellence.


Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrable client facing experience.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent leadership capability.

  • Sound knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques and procedures.

  • Knowledge of MEP design and how it ultimately interfaces with the client.

  • Understanding of design principles and ability to practically apply them.

  • Ability to communicate internally and externally through excellent written and verbal skills.

  • Strong Health sector experience – including P21 and P21+.

  • Significant Higher Education experience gained at a senior level.

  • Experience of managing projects in excess of £35m construction value

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and hold Chartership (CEng) with CIBSE or equivalent institute.
