Local Safety Officer
Assist the Office Leader in managing safety, health and environment matters by:
Helping develop and implement effective SH&E arrangements at the location (location H&S file, inductions, DSE assessments, emergency escape, first aid, risk assessments etc.);
Checking the effectiveness of arrangements during monthly inspections and propose improvements;
Acting as the local point of contact for feedback, comments, suggestions and discussion of SH&E matters raised by staff and ensuring SH&E information is displayed as required;
Reporting and responding to office-related SH&E incidents and observations;
Providing the Office Leader and Regional SH&E Manager with investigation reports;
Liaising with first aiders, Incident Controllers, Fire Marshals, DSE Assessors and Manual Handlers to coordinate arrangements.
Assisting Richard Green with any H&S items for Aldgate Tower, including attending external/internal audits and keeping the H&S management files up to date.
Setting up a safety committee team for Aldgate, holding meetings and working with Richard Green to manage any findings or actions from this.
Managing the First Aiders and fire marshals teams, ensuring training is up to date and holding regular meetings to update them with any new information.
Arranging CPR training with Ryan Burrows.
Working with the green office team for Aldgate to implement great initiatives, including the monitoring of waste, disposable free day and keep cup day.
Trained and part of the Mental Health First Aiders for AECOM.
Working closely with the Aldgate admin team, meetings held on a quarterly basis to run through items within Aldgate.
Managing the bike community, granting access, holding inductions of the space and allocating/managing lockers, along with updating them with any updated information for this space.
Creating the bulletin and working with comms (Lucy Hay) to get this sent on a weekly basis, along with updating the communal space screens to ensure important information is shown to staff.
Managing the Aldgate Tower FM helpdesk.
Assisting FM with the London portfolio as well as working with the LSO’s for H&S items in Croydon and Chelmsford.
Working with the Office Leader to manage important items for Aldgate, neighborhood lead information and team moves.
Assisting concierge with approval for meeting room issues. Weekly catch up meetings held with Emma/George from Lusso to run through any items for the Grocer or Concierge.
Most important, organising the Yearly Christmas party with Sharon Madden in events and communicating staff events to them.
Working with building management to report issues for Aldgate. Carrying out quarterly checks to ensure documentation is up to date.
