Position Title Director - Cities and Urban Design

We are seeking a senior-level Director to join the growing Cities Consulting group within the Design, Planning and Economics (DP+E) team at AECOM in London.
The ideal candidate will be recognised as a natural leader by clients in public and private sectors, with persuasive examples of successful projects in both the UK and internationally.
The candidate will demonstrate strong technical and management abilities in urban design and planning across a range of project and territorial scales.
The Director will work closely with other leaders from Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Town Planning, Development Economics, and will also collaborate with the broader array of business lines and geographies within AECOM.
DIRECTOR - DUTIES
Source and develop clients that advance the strategic interests of AECOM, using both personal and corporate networks.
Lead and manage large project teams, capable of executing complex ‘City’-scale interdisciplinary projects.
Manage the preparation of proposals, contracts, and other service agreements.
Lead client presentations at design/planning workshops and key project stages.
Contribute to business planning within the DP+E senior team.
Mentor staff in the Urban Design studio.
Work with other DP+E leaders to manage staff and hiring.
Participate in Regional and Firm-wide committees, forums and professional practice groups as required.
Profile in urban design/planning, evidenced through awards and public speaking.
Record of successfully delivered urban design/planning commissions and projects.
Demonstrated ability in securing work as well as maintaining existing contracts.
Proven ability to organise and lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
Strong client relationship skills.
Financial management capability.
Extensive professional experience.
Professional education and training in Architecture and Urban Design
Degree qualified in Design, Architecture or equivalent discipline.
