AECOM National Conveyance Technical Strategic Growth Leader in (Location Flexible), Ohio

Job Summary

AECOM National Water Business Line is looking for a Conveyance Technical and Business Development Strategic Growth Leader with technical and project management expertise, strategic growth ability, and client relationship and business development experience primarily in North America (USA & Canada). The Leader will help develop the strategy for and drive the business development, capture and accelerated growth of the Water Conveyance business in The Americas.

Conveyance projects may include but are not limited to the planning, design and construction of pipelines, pumping stations, tanks and tunnels associated with wastewater collection, water distribution and stormwater conveyance systems. Specialty sub-practices include program management, asset management, condition assessment, rehabilitation, hydraulic modelling, construction management and operations assistance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Play an integral role in the development and implementation of the firm’s Water Conveyance strategic growth plan

  • Interact and build relationships with clients and their technology experts

  • Support development of client and pursuit capture plans

  • Serve as part of the business development/capture team for key project pursuits

  • Serve as technical director on projects

  • Participate in client interview preparation and delivery

  • Work with the Technical experts to develop innovative solutions for Water Conveyance pursuits

  • Work with the Regional Market Sector leads and Client Account Managers to identify opportunities early and develop strategy to capture

  • Continuously build a strong professional network through personal contacts, association activities and membership, social networking, strategic teaming, etc.

  • Support staff development and mentoring especially for key conveyance staff in the Regions

  • Identify and help recruit key hires

  • Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative yet collaborative, using skillful persuasion and negotiation of critical issues. Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with senior level engineers/managers in the Regions, with Regional Client Account Managers, with the Water Business Line Director of Strategy and Growth, and with key engineering officials from other organizations and companies.

  • Individual will have demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature engineering, business and strategic judgment in anticipating and solving both complex and unusual problems, determining business development and strategic growth objectives and requirements, and organizing and leading diverse teams.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 12 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 14 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 14 YORE or HS/GED + 16 YORE; all including a minimum of four years of leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.

  • 20+ yrs. experience in municipal water/wastewater Conveyance planning / infrastructure design, rehabilitation, and construction with ability to develop and deliver strategic growth plans.

  • Previous and on-going successful client relationships with major municipal and private clients nationally

  • Record of success in developing capture strategies, winning work, and delivering projects.

  • Active in National water/wastewater conveyance professional societies and/or associations
