AECOM Senior Geosynthetics Field Technician in Knoxville, Tennessee

Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking experienced construction field technicians to oversee construction activity on power plant projects in eastern Kentucky and central Tennessee. Prior experience with inspection of geosynthetics installation is required.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities

  • Duties may differ depending on the specialty area

  • Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway.

  • Relies on general to moderately complex knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.

  • At this level, incumbents normally can handle a wide range of relatively complex protocols; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.

  • Works under general supervision.

Minimum Requirements

  • Prior experience with inspection of geosynthetics installation

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • 6+ Years of relevant experience

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security pre-employment background check

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen

  • Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain, and variable indoor/outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, noise, radiation, and vibration; position requires frequent standing/walking, and performing work in an environment of heavy, moving, dangerous equipment; often operating vehicles, and performing keyboard/mouse operations; occasionally performing work with arms above shoulder level,repetitive bending & stooping, climbing stairs, and lifting of less than 25 pounds; rarely power gripping/squeezing (hand tools, levers, etc.), working at heights, using portable ladders, wearing fall protection, working in confined spaces, repetitive or fine hand movements, working alone in isolated/remote areas, and lifting of 25-50 pounds. Position will include wearing all associated personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, safety shoes/boots, gloves, hearing protection, and fall protection.

  • Due to the hazard posed by heavy, moving, and/or dangerous equipment, this position requires, at a minimum, the completion of a 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety and Health, aka the OSHA 10-Hour Outreach Training in Construction.

Preferred Qualifications

If this position includes, currently or in the future, any supervisory responsibility, the completion of a 30-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training Course in Construction Safety and Health, aka the OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training in Construction, is required for this position.
