Job Summary

The Water Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Municipal Engineer /Project Manager for immediate employment in the Kitchener, ON office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead existing municipal design and construction staff, for projects including sewer and watermain replacement /reconstruction, roadway and intersection improvements, and site development/servicing design

  • Proposal preparation, client liaison and relationship management

  • Prepare documentation related to current or prospective projects, including correspondence, reports, proposals, expressions of interest, and specifications

  • Communicate and work with other disciplines/project team members in Kitchener and other regional offices to provide quality service to clients on projects of varying scope and complexity

  • Develop new business and grow the team

  • Liaise with and assist other departments and offices in the provision of design services to other clients, as applicable

  • Perform financial and budget control duties on projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

  • P.Eng in Ontario or eligible to receive it within 6 months of employment

  • 5+ years of Infrastructure Design experience

  • Thorough understanding of municipal standards, Ontario Provincial Standards and Drawings

  • Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Environmental Compliance Approvals

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D

  • Ability to travel to various project sites throughout SW Ontario

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management

  • Site Inspection

  • Stormwater Managament

  • Trenchless Technology

  • Municipal Class Environmental Assessment

  • Site Plan Approval Process

  • PMP Certification or equivalent

  • Familiarity/experience with MicroStation

  • Familiarity/experience with hydrologic modeling software
