AECOM Highways Engineer in Kitchener, Ontario

AECOM is actively seeking a Transportation Engineer in Kitchener, ON. The successful candidate will have 3-8 years of experience. She/he will be expected to work within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with other project team members and internal/external clients. He/she will have a high level of initiative, energy and enthusiasm for getting things done. The successful candidate will be expected to support in the delivery of infrastructure to customers primarily within transportation including roadside safety and roadway designs.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Prepare civil design calculations and drawings for Highways Projects.
Design for Highway infrastructure using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation
Inspect all phases of construction to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance to specifications regarding material requirements, alignment, grade, finish, compaction, etc.
Document the site conditions, equipment, material installations, quantities and the work being performed by the Contractor
Confirm that all onsite testing during installation are in conformance with the Contract Specifications
Ensures deficiencies are corrected prior to acceptance of the work
Ensuring overall data quality and integrity
Prepare documentation for design projects and reports
Undertake quality control procedures
Assures that engineering related issues are promptly relayed to the Project Manager for action and follows up to assure timeliness of resolution efforts
Bachelor's in Civil Engineering
A minimum of 2 years experience
Previous Highways Experience
Ideally a minimum of 3 years experience
