AECOM is seeking a Nuclear Training Supervisor to be based in our Kincardine, ON location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to relocate to the area.
Under the direction of the Series Training Manager, the Training Supervisor will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of training activities for the Bruce Power FCFR Series execution.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Create a detailed work plan which identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully be prepared to start, deliver, monitor and complete Series Training.
Identify all resources required to complete the Series Training while working within the established budgets.
Support scheduling for Series Training that effectively allocates the resources to the training activities.
Review the project schedule with the Series Training Manager and all other key staff that will be affected by the Series Training activities; revise the schedule as required.
Determine the objectives and measures upon which the Series Training will be evaluated at its completion and reviews training content to ensure training adequacy, effectiveness and accuracy.
Prepare and utilize series training readiness check sheets
Provides technical support to series training department resources
Lead resolution of document revisions with the trainers and series leads
Assists development of training material including lesson plans, practical evaluations and written exams.
Provides assurance that training activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, technical specifications and applicable programs.
Participates in series training review meetings to document training related lessons learned and identifies potential subsequent training developments.
Identifying all QA, EHS and Human Performance training requirements to successfully educate skilled trades in the operation of the refurbishment toolset
Liaise with operations and implementation leads to ensure training programs will meet project needs
Using metrics and analysis to identify and drive a continuous improvement training strategy
Delivering all training courses in an engaging manner to ensure retention of content
Responsible for performance management of all instructors
Leverage past technical knowledge to make the best use of resources available (skilled trades, mockups, factory acceptance trials, etc) to enhance the training program
Planning and executing training activities as above
Work with Training Facility Superintendent to establish and maintain facility requirements
Other duties as directed by the Series Training Manager
Provide leadership to instructors and trainees
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience
3 years of experience in curriculum development and stand-up training, preferably in the engineering and construction industry
10+ years of construction project experience
Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team
Post secondary education in a technical or training-related field
Previous Candu reactor refurbishment training knowledge/reactor re-tube experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Self-motivated team player who demonstrates leadership
Due to the nature of work conducted by AECOM, mandated nuclear export controls requirements must be met for employment.
